A MEETING WITH THE DEFENCE MINISTER

It was a chance meeting with our Managing Partner, Loong Caesar, but the charm and personality of Malaysia’s amiable new Defence Minister, Mat Sabu, was all too apparent. They were both attending the Japanese Self-Defence Day Reception on 11 July where Mat Sabu was the joint guest of honour with Japan’s Foreign Minister, Taro Kono. The Defence Minister, shortly after the event flew off to the United Kingdom to attend the Farnborough International Air Show and to meet his UK counterpart. Also present at the reception were the Defence officers from other diplomatic missions including UK’s Defence Advisor, Colonel Stephen Hall.
